Edo Underprivileged Children’s Scholarship Trust Fund
The Trust fund is established with the sole aim of providing qualitative education for brilliant but indigent children in line with the United Nations Convention on the Right of a child to basic qualitative education.
Objectives:• To provide basic and qualitative education for brilliant but indigent children.
• To prevent illegal withdrawal of any child from school for child labour.
• To prevent all forms of child abuse.
• To prevent discrimination against any child due to unfavourable circumstances of birth.
• To ensure that no child is coerced into any form of criminal activity.
Its focal points are the orphaned, the indigent and the physically challenged children.
Achievements:
• Over 210 beneficiaries with end results being among others, a practicing Medical Doctor, and an Accountant.
• Donation of books to several Primary and Secondary schools in Edo state.
• Successful corrective surgeries for five children with cleft lips and plates.
• Contribution to the establishment of a Youth Resource Centre that facilitates capacity building of adolescents.
• Sponsorship of the Bill against Female Genital Mutilation passed into law on 4th November 1999
• Lobbying for the Law against Harsh Widowhood Rites
• Joint presentation of National Law against Human Trafficking and Other Related Offences to the National Assembly on 16th February 2001
• Donations to Paragon school for show learners
• Donation to Handicapped children of Government school for the physically handicapped at Ikpoba Hill
• Donation of wheel chairs to children with special needs

Youth Resource
The Youth Resource Centre aims at engaging the Young Persons productively within their community. It was established by a collaboration with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) with support from the Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA) in 2004.
The Centre offers vocational skills trainings in
• Fashion and Design,
• Catering and Hotel Management,
• Hairdressing, Cosmetology and Bead Making,
• Computer/ICT and Secretarial Studies.
In addition to these, the Centre has a Counseling Unit. The Counseling Unit offers lectures on social, psychosocial and health issues, organizes Business and Entrepreneurial trainings and holds personalized counseling sessions. There is also a Library for research purposes, Recreational facilities are also available at the Centre.
All these work to build capacity of In-and-Out of school youth. Graduates of the Centre have formed a Youth Empowerment and Development Initiative (YEDI).
This is a club comprising of selected Peer Educator Trainers (PETs) who have been taught basic teaching techniques of Life skill, Reproductive Health, Human Trafficking and HIV/AIDS using UNICEF approved facilitators’ Guide and Workbook.
Assisted Voluntary Return Programme
By this organ, Idia Renaissance provides support services to organizations and governments to deliver safe and voluntary return services to undocumented Nigerian nationals and ex-asylum seekers living in Europe and other parts of the world who wish to return home, with living and economic support to enable them reintegrate into the Nigerian society.
The Assisted Voluntary Return Project is aimed at giving aid to undocumented or irregular migrants overseas who wish to return home. Idia Renaissance has employed her wealth of experience in this area and has recorded a high success rate in her ability it assist migrants return and reintegrate into society successfully. In addition, Lectures and Seminars are organized to educate young persons about the dangers of irregular migration.
HIV/AIDS Counselling and Screening Services
Flowing from the pandemic nature of the spread of HIV/AIDS at that time,Idia Renaissance in partnership with the Global HIV/AIDS Initiative Nigeria (GHAIN) established a Voluntary Counselling And Testing Unit, ’Heart to Heart’, at the Youth Resource Centre.
Under this programme, Awareness campaigns and rallies are organized across the State to educate primarily women and young persons about the dangers of HIV/AIDS and about access to social and medical support for persons living with HIV/AIDS. Over 25 personos living with HIV/AIDS have been trained in Soap making, Tie and Dye,Fashion and Design and Computer operations at the Youth Resource Centre.. The Centre still undertakes counselling and screening services to the public, free of charge.
Legal framework for Law Enforcement
Idia Renaissance lobbied for the enactment of the Edo State Law againstHuman Trafficking and Prostitution bill which was signed into Law on 11th September, 2000 It is contained in the Criminal Code (Amendment) Law 2000Cap 48, Laws of Bendel State.
Idia Renaisaance was present at the Reading of the Child Rights Bill, along with sister NGOs at the State House of Assembly.Idia Renaissance is presently a member of the Edo State Taskforce against Human Trafficking (ETAHT).

Idia Clubs
Idia club has a “catch-them-young” approach and draws its membership from schools. This organ employs the structural framework of the school system as a pedestal on which it builds relationship, moulds character and nurtures habits for greater optimal positive use in life.
Objectives:
• Sensitizing youth on the ills and consequences of cultism.
• Equipping youth with information to guide them against drug abuse and drug trafficking. • Educating about damages of Human Trafficking and Prostitution. • Increasing positive cultural practices and eradicating harmful traditional practices. • Promoting sound moral values and norms towards creating a distinct personality for the Edo child.
Edo State Skills Acquisition Centre, Evbomodu
The skill Acquisition Centre at Evbomodu provides vocational skills training in;
• Computer & Secretarial Department
• Catering Department • Fashion and tailoring Department • Hair Dressing and Cosmetology Department • Counseling Unit The Centre offered jobs to successful candidate through the Edo State JobBankset up in 2005 by the Edo state Committee on Human Trafficking. The Job Bank created a link between employers of labour and eligible but unemployed youth in the state. In the alternative, successful candidates were placed on Micro Credit schemes to enable them set up their own businesses.
